Since his first release in 2019, Newcastle’s Trunky Juno has thrived within the realms of his alternative/indie experimentation. Clean-cut production and relatable, largely insular lyricism has earned him accolades that include BBC Radio 1 airplay, and an esteemed likening to artistic boundary pushers such as Beck or Mac Demarco. His latest offering ‘Oxford English Dictionary’ continues on this path of alt-indie exploration, as a fun, bouncing rhythm sits below hazy vocals and off-kilter bursts of lead hooks from a variation of guitar and synths. In testament to his inspired sense of songwriting within the new track, he said “Oxford English Dictionary was one of those tracks that sounded great as soon as I made the demo, lot’s of those parts made it into the final version because they’re so full of that sense of initial inspiration.”
