Following an incredible 2019 for Sea Girls which saw them hailed as one of BBC’s Sounds of 2019, signing a record deal with Polydor, touring the globe and playing their biggest UK tour to date, the band have released their incredible single ‘Ready For More’.
This is the 3rd single to be released ahead of their EP ‘Under Exit Lights’ due out Friday 6th March. Sea Girls have hit 2020 strong with this EP and a sold out UK tour to support it and with the ability to write songs as catchy as ‘Ready For More’ and ‘Violet’ you can see why. With plenty of support from BBC Radio 1 and a lot of hype around the band currently, ‘Ready For More’ fits into the fast paced atmosphere surrounding the band.
On the surface ‘Ready For More’ sounds like a catchy upbeat indie pop song, however lead singer Henry Camamile explains: “‘Ready For More’ is the bad apple of the EP. It looks and sounds sweet, but it’s basically staring into this abyss of nihilistic behaviour and being scared that I couldn’t change it.”
This lyrics in this song, and the remaining songs on the EP, take a different light than previous Sea Girl’s song, “the lyrics for these songs draw their soul from my life of late nights and mornings after – about being young and going out a lot.” Henry explains. “It involves dark thoughts, anxiety, but ends in hope, positivity and optimism.”
‘Ready For More’ is a typical indie anthem that you come to expect from Sea Girls and there’s more of a similar ilk coming soon.
