Short and sweet, Hawke The Band have really released one of the bounciest tracks I have personally heard from an up and coming band in recent times. From the outset of the song I found myself bopping along in my chair to the sound of the Dublin born band. First impressions of a track are very important to most people, myself especially; this song caught my attention immediately and had me gripped from start to finish.

If the word anthemic was to be defined by a piece of music, I honestly think ‘Miracles’ by Hawke The Band would probably be the perfect definition. I always find it funny as someone who writes about music and makes music myself that music can make us feel so many different emotions throughout even one piece. ‘Miracles’ does just that, a rollercoaster of emotions, from the beginning of the track which is so laid back and really feels quite serene to listen to, right through to the chorus which just fills my mind with what I can only describe as a euphoric feeling.

Musically, this track shows a very clear sense of high quality musicianship. Hawke The Band have written a song here which on the surface doesn’t seem to be all that complex but upon really listening there are so many little nuances in the track which are executed perfectly. One of these which sticks out for me is the lead guitar and the drums which are not at the forefront of the track but really have their function. The drums really do keep the track ticking along in a great way, again in the drums there are just so many small nuances in the playing which on the surface aren’t noticeable but they are things which speak to the quality of performance from the drummer.

Not often do I find myself listening to a piece much beyond when I write about it, there have been a few but not many. I do however, feel like I have really found a band here that I will be listening to a lot more. Hawke The Band have a sound which is so mature and defined and I cannot wait to hear more from these guys. If you haven’t already listened to ‘Miracles’ by Hawke The Band, I urge you to go and check out their music.
