“The Maddocks are Stockport’s most exciting new exports” – Sarah Taylor, The Mancunion. Having known each other since their school days, The Maddocks formed in the spring of 2022. Consisting of George Edwards on vocals and lead guitar, Siobhán Lally on bass, Ed Gibbins on drums and Alex Tollerfield on rhythm guitar, the quarter have combined their eclectic influences to create a unique, post-punk tinged sound. Their self-released debut single, “This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice things”, has already gained a seal of approval from Radio X’s John Kennedy, as well as having been playlisted on Amazing Radio. All born in the same Stockport hospital at the turn of the millennium, the band have an intrinsic love for their home town and the people in it. With two sold-out headline shows already under their belts, paired with overwhelmingly positive response to their debut release, the future is looking bright for The Maddocks.
